Liver Supportive Foods

Our liver, like many organs in our body, is often taken for granted until problems arise. On the one hand, the liver is one of the only self-healing organs, but similar to our skin, damage leaves the liver with scars known as cirrhosis. Each time your liver is injured, it tries to repair itself. In the process, scar tissue forms. As cirrhosis progresses, more and more scar tissue forms, making it difficult for the liver to function (Mayo, 2018). This is just one of the many ways that our liver can be harmed so it’s important that we make a conscious effort to support our livers through proper nutrition.
